A Message regarding COVID-19 and Catalina Island

Dear Visitors:

We're asking anyone who is not a primary resident of Catalina Island or providing essential services to our residents NOT to visit Catalina for the time being. The reason is simple: as a small, remote island community our healthcare facilities lack the capacity to handle a widespread outbreak of COVID-19. Additionally, services in Mammoth Lakes are currently extremely limited. Catalina restaurants (excluding takeout services), bars and other public spaces are temporarily closed due to county-mandated health orders. Public gatherings have also been prohibited by the Los Angeles County Public Health Officer.

 (LITTLE ROCK, ARK.) – Arkansas State Parks remain open at this time to provide needed outdoor spaces for our guests. While we have some diminished services, the parks are open for day-use activities including hiking, running, cycling, fishing, paddling, wildlife watching, etc.

(LITTLE ROCK, ARK.) – Stacy Hurst, secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism (ADPHT), today announced that to ensure the safety of guests and employees during the COVID-19 public health emergency, ADPHT is closing the lodges at four of its state parks, effective at 8 a.m. Monday, March 23, through Friday, April 17, 2020.
