Northern Lights Festival November 30

Northern Lights Festival will be held on Saturday, November 30, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Argenta Plaza at 510 Main Street in downtown North Little Rock. Free, family-friendly fun, with horse carriage rides, real reindeer, Santa and Mrs. Claus, storytime on the streetcar, lighting of a new 38-foot Christmas tree, live music, fireworks show and more!

The event marks the grand opening of Argenta Plaza, a public space for all of North Little Rock residents and visitors to enjoy, with water features, stage and "swings" under the front porch.

Come hungry: Northern Lights Festival will have food trucks - including Delta Biscuit Company, Fly by Night, Crepe Coop - and libations - including local brews from Flyway Brewing and Diamond Bear Brewing Company. If you want a sit-down meal, check out some of the fantastic dining on Main Street! Local Dining

A Christmas Carol opens at Argenta Community Theater

The third annual performance of Charles Dickens' holiday classic returns to Argenta Community Theater December 4 through December 14. The original stage adaptation by Arkansas playwright Judy B. Goss includes an all-new cast of local youth and adult actors who bring the story of Ebenezer Scrooge's redemption to the stage. Buy Tickets

Here comes Santa Claus!

Santa will be at McCain Mall starting Friday, November 15. He'll arrive by fire truck Friday at 6 p.m., with a breakfast the following morning in Center Court. When you finish your holiday shopping, have your gifts wrapped at the ALS in Wonderland booth on the upper level across from Zales Jewelers. Proceeds earned will benefit ALS and Simon Youth Foundation.

Home away from home

Only so many relatives can fit on the pull-out couch over the holidays. These hotels are a stone's throw from all of the holiday fun in North Little Rock.

(For a "Cousin Eddie" situation: Downtown Riverside RV Park is less than a mile from downtown. With a free dump station, just sayin'.)
