LAKE OF THE OZARKS, MO -- Visitors to the "Best Recreational Lake in the Nation," Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks, have their choice of a variety of fun activities, festivals and fireworks displays to enjoy this Fourth of July holiday.

"The Fourth of July is always a great time at the Lake of the Ozarks," says Tim Jacobsen, executive director for the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau. "When you add a whole bunch of awesome fireworks, cookouts and festivals to all the other incredible summer activities and attractions we have at the Lake, the extra long Fourth of July weekend becomes a major highlight for summer visitors," Jacobsen adds. "The entire community gets involved with many resorts and attractions hosting their own celebrations. The hardest part is choosing which activities to participate in and where to watch the fireworks."

Guests of Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach can enjoy four days and nights of fun that include a swim-up movie, live music, entertaining games and contests, bowling, clowns and stilt-walkers, all-American barbecues and a parent/child golf tournament in addition to a brilliant fireworks display on the Fourth. On the Fourth of July, the City of Eldon hosts an Independence Day festival featuring a 5K "fun run" at 7:30 a.m. and a parade running through downtown beginning at 11 a.m. At the Eldon Air Park, visitors can participate in a free kickball tournament from 1-5 p.m., enjoy delicious food from a food truck village from 4-11 p.m., browse through handmade goods at various arts and crafts vendor stands from 4-8 p.m. and enjoy a concert in the park with live music performed by Pure Drive from 7-9 p.m. Fireworks take place at the Air Park as well and begin at dusk. The Lodge of Four Seasons in Lake Ozark welcomes their guests to join them for a Fourth of July celebration. There will be an indoor carnival in the Campana Hall from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. featuring bounce houses, fun activities, crafts, face painting and clowns. There will be a barbecue buffet in Breezes from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 12-9 p.m. on Saturday. The Lodge's spectacular fireworks begin at dusk and can be seen from the resort or by water at the 13 Mile Marker on the main channel of the Lake. Additional large-scale, impressive fireworks displays can be enjoyed at the following locations around the Lake of the Ozarks: Bear Bottom Resort in Sunrise Beach, Captain Ron's Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach, the City of Linn Creek's soccer fields in Linn Creek, Lake Valley Golf Club in Camdenton, the Inn at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach and Point Randall Resort in Lake Ozark.

For on-the-water fun, there are three options for a chartered fireworks cruise on the Fourth of July. The party doesn't end on Thursday night, as Old Kinderhook near Camdenton hosts its annual Fireworks Family Fun Fest on Friday, July 5. The Fun Fest is open to public and costs $5 per car to attend. Guests can enjoy fun games, bounce houses, face painting and live music by James Clay and the Hired Guns. An All-American cookout will be available as well for a minimal charge.
