Friday Harbor, WA… See San Juan artists’ studios from a set of skinny tires! The 29th Annual San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour and the Friday Harbor Bike Fest are coming June 1st! Pedal your way down hidden drives and island backroads and discover why the San Juans are an Artists’ Hot Spot* in Washington.

The Bike Fest is being held at San Juan Island Brewing in downtown Friday Harbor. Breakfast (no host) will be available starting at 8:00 am from the local Cutthroat Pirates. Supported rides will be from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, but you can start and finish any time you wish. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Salish Sea and lush farmland and perhaps catch a glimpse of a fox or two. The fee includes a Tri-Tip BBQ meal, featuring local BBQ aficionado Billy Grewohd (vegan burgers will also be available), at the end of the ride. Live music provided by local musicians will start at 3:00 pm at San Juan Island Brewing Company. Enjoy a pint of locally crafted ale or lager or sip a glass of wine from award-winning estate-grown San Juan Vineyards, at an additional cost.

View the many artistic works inspired by the San Juan Islands natural world during the San Juan Island Artists’ Studio Tour. Find many new studios on the tour this year; 22 mutually supportive island art studios will host over 60 artists. Find glass blowing, etchings, handmade knives, kaleidoscopes, jewelry, wearable art, fiber art, sculpture, fused glass and more. Take the self-guided tour (maps available on the website) to seldom-open-to-the-public studios and watch art in the making. This will be the largest, most fun-filled annual tour event yetand a once-a-year chance to buy fine art at its source. Sign up for a raffle at each studio for a chance to win local fine art.
