About Me:
In 1981-82 I studied film and fine art photography at Ryerson University in Toronto. At the time, Ryerson offered the most prestigious photography course in all of Canada. While attending my studies I won my first photography award at the age of twenty. It was for the Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Award contest of 1980. I took first place in Canada in the Black and White division for an image of a motorcycle hill climber wiping out on his bike. I then worked five years as the official publicity photographer at the Ontario Jockey Club racetracks Greenwood and Mowhawk in the Standardbred division of the racing industry. I was responsible for providing the trade magazines and city newspapers with action photography of the races.. After I left the track I worked two years as a news photographer for the Mississauga News. I then went on to originate the first wing strut camera mounted skydiving photography operation in Canada selling souvenir photographs of first jump student skydivers. That business ran successfully for almost 30 years. During that time I also personally made over 6,500 Skydives in my career of skydiving and many thousands of those jumps were as a tandem videographer, meaning I skydived along side first time tandem student skydivers with both a still and a video camera system attached to my helmet. Lastly, I also ran a very successful (but exhausting) hockey photography business from 2006-12 and sold hockey action images to the parents of minor hockey players in Ontario. Currently, I am traveling the world photographing those travels as The Wandering Fireman. My website is:
